Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that she thinks the party should cut the total number of superdelegates starting in 2012, according to CQ Politics.

Pelosi said she opposed the superdelegate structure when it was originally formed and also said that “800 is far too many.”

With the current state of the 2008 Primary election, the superdelegates have gotten quite a pivotal role to play in this race. The problem here is that I don’t think they actually want to exercise the power that they have been given.
