When Hillary Rodham Clinton gets up in front a crowd, on national TV, and tells the world that she is ahead in the popular vote, why won’t the media correct her?
Note to media…… You have to call bullshit and correct her.
Currently, Hillary Clinton is out there on the trail spewing two different lies:
1. She is leading the popular vote.
This is a lie, period. She is not leading in the popular vote if you actually look at this race according to the rules, which I would imagine everyone would be willing to do.
Florida and Michigan DO NOT COUNT, so don’t count them. Until there is an official DNC decision on what is going to happen with those two states, they can’t be counted. This is her entire argument and it is flat out wrong. What is even more wrong is the fact that even if FL and MI were counted, she is figuring the math as though Obama got ZERO of the votes in MI. This is not going to happen, as he was not even on the ballot in MI. Even those “uncommitted” votes would have to factored in somehow.
Second lie:
2. More people have voted for me than any other Democratic candidate in history.
Again, this is a lie. She is not leading in the popular vote, so obviously more people could not have voted for her than for any other candidate in Democratic history, including Barack Obama.
The media just lets this stuff go and never even attempts to correct it half of the time. Chris Matthews last night on MSNBC had the opportunity to call bullshit on this about 15 times, and never once did it.
Sen. Clinton is certainly entitled to her own math but the American people are also entitled to the correct math.
Quit letting Sen. Clinton lie about the facts and do your job as the media and report accurate news.

1Since you put this topic up for discussion…I can understand that your job is to report news, and I understand that pundits will say what’s on their mind, i.e. Pat Buchanan’s racist and bigoted comments. But when something is blantantly false, don’t you have some responsibility to speak the truth. It has appeared that for some time (with the exception of Keith Olbermann) pundits are afraid to speak the truth when it comes to the Clintons. In my opinion it is your First Amendment responsibility to clarify, speak the truth, especially when it comes to the math. I suspect this is Journalism 101 that it is your responsibility to report the truth….and not give the Clintons a free ride.

2@Ron Bricker:
Ron, I agree with you 100%. I think that the media has the obligation to report the truth when broadcasting information. Even if that media outlet happens to be for a particular candidate or issue(I am not saying that MSNBC is for any particular candidate), they still need to make sure that people know the truth and are told about the actual facts, rather than simply letting it go over and over during their public broadcast of that information.
People need to know that what Sen. Clinton is saying is false. For some reason, the media does not want to point out that fact.
