The question is, does Obama REALLY want Edwards to be his right hand man? Although I am an Edwards supporter, i don’t think he has the longevity to be a VP for eight years, providing Mr. Obama is elected and successfully completes two terms. I don’t see Edwards as president material, and he just doesn’t seem the type to sit and watch others control the path our country is going.

That is just my take on it all.

I grew up in VA and and currently live in NC. There was a large turnout for Kerry here in NC in 2004, now the demographics have changed even more so I really can see a Obama/Edwards ticket carrying both VA and NC. The Republicians are in serious trouble as as result of ‘Bush Politics’. I hope Hillary will concede after next Tuesday’s election because Democrats need to strike while the iron is hot.

I agree with your point, somewhat. He does in fact need help in the South though. States like NC, SC, etc. are RED states in the general election. These are places that could go BLUE with the right ticket.

You do make a valid point, but I think there is a little more to it than that.

Please stop. At least look at a delegate map. He does not need the south. All he needs is Ohio. Does not need CO. or MO, NC or SC. He needs the North East states minus NH and the North West and NM and OH. NOT IN or WV, AL or MS or even VA.

If he chooses the OH Governor (a Hillary backer - how nice) he will win OH. And enough of PA will never want to see abortion and birth control criminalized that he wins PA going away - the rest is cake. Check out the NY Times interactive electoral map and you’ll see what I say is truth. Of course he could swap OH for CO and MO. But they are tougher sells.

I agree with you. An Obama/Edwards ticket would truly be a unity ticket that could really unite and ignite the Democratic party.

As a resident of North Carolina and a african american, nothing would make me more excited than to see a Obama/Edwards ticket.
