Bob Cesca has posted a new piece of the the Huffington Post that is a must read piece.

Bob has written about the media and how they are playing on the Rev. Wright issue, and he has done it quite well. I have been saying to weeks now that the MSM need to do their job and report on issues that matter to people.

Here are some notable excerpts from Bob’s piece:

All three major cable news networks are wasting valuable air time on Senator Obama’s former pastor. Why? Is the story newsworthy? Sure. Is wall-to-wall Wright coverage more important than Iraq or gas prices or the climate crisis? No way. But Reverend Wright is a scary, shouting black man and scary shouting black men equal ratings-sweet-ratings.

My emphasis placed on that last part, because it is so true. Bob has hit the nail on the head here with his assertion of the MSM only covering Wright because of the ratings they can gain.

But wait, according to Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, and the other Right-Wing water carriers, the MSM is in the tank for Obama right? So how can they possibly make this such a huge story?

If the corporate media had been as diligent about watchdogging President Bush as they have been about watchdogging Reverend Wright, it’s very likely we wouldn’t have invaded Iraq.

Again, spot on. The war has been a complete disaster for this nation and if the people had known more about what was really going on, it is likely that the situation could have been avoided.

Yet Buchanan gets thawed out of his cryo-freeze chamber every time there’s some race-baiting to be done. Of the thousands of Republicans at their disposal as a means of balancing out the brilliant Rachel and the equally brilliant Keith, MSNBC chooses the one Republican who’s known as much for his racism as he is for his high pitch voice.

Bob, genius my friend, just genius. Pat Buchanan cannot speak a single paragraph without throwing in a racist undertone. I have never understood why MSNBC feel so compelled to continue to let a known racist fill up air-time on their network. You would think that Fixed News would have snatched him up a long time ago.
