Rev. Al Sharpton voiced his criticism of Barack Obama yesterday and once again proved that he does not want Sen. Obama to win the office of President of The United States.
While speaking about the recent verdict in the Sean Bell murder case, Sen. Obama said:
“resorting to violence to express displeasure” was “completely unacceptable and counterproductive.”
As with anything that usually comes from Obama, this sounds pretty rational to me. Well Rev. Sharpton didn’t see it that way.
The source said Sharpton had hoped Obama would “side with the Bell family” and not use it as an “opportunity to grandstand in front of white people.”
I have come to the conclusion that Rev. Al Sharpton clearly does not want Obama to be the president. Why is that you ask?
Because if Obama were to become president, then Al Sharpton becomes irrelevant in this country, that is why.
How can Rev. Sharpton continue to preach that America is holding down the black population, and that suppression of minorities in this country is unjust if we elect a black president?
He can’t, which is why he doesn’t want Barack Obama to be the president.
If Obama succeeds and sets an example for all other minorities to follow, then Rev. Sharpton no longer has a job. If Obama beats the odds and shows that with hard work, anyone can be and do whatever they want, then Rev. Sharpton no longer has a foot to stand on.
As with all activist causes, once you achieve the desired outcome, you are no longer needed.
Take for example your regular family doctor. He is in the business of maintaining your health. If you didn’t get sick or have medical problems that he could heal, he would be out of business. So it stands to reason that he is not in the business of prevention, he is in the business of maintenance. He succeeds on maintaining your medical condition. He succeeds on the fact that you will get sick and you will come to him in order to cure that illness.
Do you think that if the drug companies released a pill that would cure you of the flu forever that your doctor would be recommending it to you? Absolutely not, because then he loses money and his services are no longer needed. You laugh, but tell me my point is not valid.
Al Sharpton is no different. Once one of the people that he so vigorously fights for makes it to the most important job in the land, his services are no longer needed. So when it all comes down to it, Al Sharpton does not want minorities to succeed, he simply wants them to remain in a state of maintenance, so that his voice and his actions can continue to be relevant and he can continue to appear as a beacon of hope for so many that don’t even need him.
Luckily for us and this country, we have put this type of thought past us and we are getting ready to elect the first African-American president. Barack Obama has shown that he is ready to lead this country and this country has also shown that they are ready for Barack to lead it.
As for Rev. Sharpton, I am glad that the thought of having an African-American president ruffles his feathers. If you ask me, he has done more to set minorities back in this country than he has done to help them and that doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon.

2You hit the nail right on the head. High-profiled African-Americans like Al Sharpton and Rev. Jeremiah Wright (who are already ridiculed for their over-the-top ostentatious behavior) are really setting a bad precedent that is going to infuriate members of their communities. Undoubtedly, their followers are going to do a BIG double-take at in their unshakable spiritual leaders’ change in their own campaign against Obama. While I don’t think that their idiotic commentary is relevant or going to have any effect on Obama’s campaign, they are going to destroy their own credibility (if they even have any) within the African-American community. They have turned into cartoons or caricatures, who people will not take seriously, and they are going to be treated as such. This flip-flop is truly a big flop for Sharpton and Wright.
Rev. Wright and Al Sharpton are taking Obama’s criticism way too personally and need to keep their eyes focused on the goal: to elect the best candidate for president. They jumped the gun of this one and need to back off because this negativity is only going to reflect upon themselves, not Obama or his grounded and well known philosophies.
If both of their goals are self-preservation, they are taking the wrong action. They are headed toward self-destruction. This is something that will further isolate themselves from their own community, as well as from the outside.

Mr. Obama had the perfect opportunity to make a clean break with the incendiary “black liberation” theologian, when he gave his widely-televised speech at Constitution Hall on the state of race relations. Instead, he chose to explain ……
