A funny thing happens when you email a national radio show and call out the host of that show for deliberately linking Barack Obama and his pastor Reverend Wright.
They talk about you on the air for 15 minutes and publicize you like crazy. And, they post your email and blog info on their website for everyone to check out.
Earlier this morning, I emailed Mike Church, host of the Mike Church Show, on Sirius satellite radio, channel 144. I emailed him to let him know that I did not appreciate him continuing to link Barack Obama to the recent comments and sermon messages of his former pastor Reverend Jeremiah Wright. I also emailed him to call him exactly what he is……..a racist conservative.
Here is my email to Mike Church:
Mike,
You sound a little frustrated because Rev. Wright has called you (the racist, white neo-conservative) out on your rhetoric, divisive tactics, and general banter.
I find it odd that you would continue to associate Obama with the words of the Reverend, after Obama has repeatedly denounced those statements in public on numerous occasions. Rev. Wright is also no longer the pastor at that church and has been removed.
Clearly you are grasping at straws here in order to portray negative attention on Obama, but clearly that is not going to work. You are the typical neo-conservative that always wants to keep this country divided by race, gender, and wealth status. I have come to expect nothing less from your side and I know that the views of both you and your party will never change. You can continue to be a racist talk show host all you want, but maybe you can take some notes from Andrew Wilkow about properly having a political discussion on talk radio.
Andrew is one of the few people on your side that actually gets it and can actually analyze political subjects without resorting to the typical right-wing fear mongering, talking points, and decisive rhetoric. You are a joke and your show is nothing more than comedic entertainment for people on your side that cannot think for themselves.

As you can see, my message to him was clearly my personal opinion and how I feel about him and his show.
About 20 minutes after I emailed him, he began to read my email and call me out live on his show. Clearly, I struck a nerve with Mr. Church, who evidently does not like being called a spade, when in fact he is a spade. He continued to read my email on the air, all the while trying to explain and defend himself against the remarks that I have made to him. He continued this for roughly 15 minutes or so, calling me by name and calling out my web address.
Also, Mr. Church (or his staff I should say) did me the honor of posting my message on his website, along with my blog logo and link back to my blog. I am not exactly sure what Mr. Church thought that was going to accomplish, but I do appreciate him doing that for me.
The point of the email was to simply let Mike Church know my feelings towards him and his show, nothing more. Many people will most likely not agree with my opinion, which is fine, but I call it like I see it (or hear it).
He repeatedly played the audio clips of Reverend Wright this morning, while slamming Barack Obama in between each one and trying to link Obama to these statements as though Obama was in total agreement with the statements. This is simply not true, as Obama has publicly stated on numerous occasions that he denounces the statements of the pastor and the pastor does not speak for Obama. Church also continued to throw in his own little racial nuances between clips.
So anyway, I emailed him about it and he evidently got a little agitated. It’s funny how that happens sometimes. I am not sure if this just a case of “the truth hurts” mentality, or if he just really didn’t have any more rhetoric to spew, so he choose to waste 15 minutes of his show talking about me and my blog.
Whichever it is, I appreciate it Mr. Church.

1I heard his show today, I also heard him ask you to call in to the show to discuss it. Your reason for not backing up what you said live and not in a blog? As far as Obama and his Pastor is concerned I am sorry but after 20 years being a member of the church you can not say you didn’t know his stances on issues and or you do not subscribe to the same ideas. This Pastor married them has baptized their kids and by HIS admission is a member of campaign staff. Would you, Corry, stay somewhere for 20 years that espoused such blatantly racist ideas? Would you not denounce and separate yourself from such people soon after hearing speech like that? Hillary threw one of her oldest and strongest supporters under the bus for saying something that while not racist, had racial overtones within 48 hours of hearing it. I know Obama has this almost mystical aura about him. however with things like this, and his friendship and support for the founding members of the weather underground ( by his own admission) it does give a person reason to pause and think. Would you not prefer to have this examined now and dismissed if found to be false than risk the chance that it is true. After all we are talking about being the President of these United States.

2First of all Marty fee, my name is Cory, not Corry.
Next, your argument of Obama staying in a church for 20 years while his pastor spews racist remarks is totally justified, and I agree with you 100%. He is no longer the pastor at that church, which obviously tells me that they did not agree with statements or his actions. Now, does Obama need to remove him from the campaign staff? Yes, and he has done so already. Again, a clear statement that he does not agree with or condone the statements of Rev. Wright.
My entire point in all of this was that Mr. Church (to my knowledge) never stated that Obama was against these statements and remarks by the pastor. I have no problem at all with Mr. Church playing the audio clips but he could at least have the decency of telling both sides of the story, rather than bending it to fit his agenda.

3I have been a member at my present church for about six months.
The reasons for me to become a member is because of the ideas, beliefs, and theology that is taught in which I agree with….People attend churches where they are like in mind.
You can not tell me that you can be a member of a church for more than twenty years and then all of a sudden find your pastors sermons to be offensive and denounce them.
If any member or the pastor of my church made these kind of racist statements, we would be removed “PLAIN AND SIMPLE”.
Obama’s pastor was not removed but simply retired.
Obama’s sudden decision to denounce his pastors statements seem to only be politacally motivated.
If this Church dude called you out, why don’t you debate him?
All men love a good challenge from time to time.
Maybe I will buy a sirius satellite radio to listen in on your debates.

4Hey Cory, I can see both sides of this story. I can see how absolutely racist this man is. I am a white male, age 24. I have NEVER thought about a Black, Asian, Latin, or European the way that this man seems to think about MY RACE! I hate to break it to him, but the things he is saying, are the things he didn’t want whites to say 50 years ago. Just because you used to be treated badly and looked down upon, doesn’t mean you get to do the same when you’re finally on equal ground. He is just as racist as the KKK is. Then again I can also see the side you’re on. The only problem with your issue with Mr. Church is he DID play audio of Obama denouncing this man. The problem is, Obama is a politician, just like all politicians, republican and democrat, they are all lie. They all tell you what you want to hear, they all lie to get power.
Timing is of huge importance here. Obama listened, studied, and learned from this man for 20 years, that doesn’t leave your soul very easily. The pastor also only “left” the church when there was a huge uproar. Also, taking into account what Obama’s wife has said, with his ties to the Weather Underground guy, the refusal to wear a USA Flag pin, not covering his heart, not showing respect to the flag. Although minor, and seemingly insignificant actions, they truly do speak a lot about his character, those small things are simply a matter of respect, and nothing more. If he can’t even give his respect to the flag, and the men who died for it, then he is not capable of being “Commander in Chief” Its not fair to the servicemen of the past, nor the service men currently serving, he will not do them justice, and he will not care about them. Although I respect your opinion, I cannot agree with it. But thanks for the entertainment. I wish you the best

5First let me apologize for the second “R” in your name, Sometimes I have keys that stick (coffee and video games) It was in by no means done on purpose. Next The Mike Church Show, The Wilkow Majority, and the Hannity Show all discussed Senator Obama’s past rejections of his Minister, After playing and talking about the present comments. However they feel that the statements made this time by the Minister were beyond Obama’s ability to just dismiss. and that is something each American Citizen is going to decide for themselves. Lastly, As far as I ave been able to find out. The Church did not get rid of the minister, he retired as he has had planned for some time. On a personal note I am pleased that you let my post on, as most Democrat sites drop all potentially dissenting voices. I do not know how long you have had this site, but it is my hope that even though you may disagree you will continue to let all sides be heard.

6Marty Fee,
Your comments (and anyone else’s) will always be welcome on this blog. While we may disagree on the issues, I will in no way censor your right to voice your opinion on them. I have to moderate them all due to the amount of spam that tries to make it through, but any legitimate comment posted on this blog will be posted for everyone to view and discuss.

7I am always concerned that when we allow people to say what they mean, they don’t necessarily mean what they say. as long as EVERY SIDE backs up what they are saying, spraying, spewing, preaching, pushing, ranting and raving, I think it should be heard. Opinions are like, well you know…..

8To pay tribute to the brilliant writer Gore Vidal when debating William F. Buckley during the 1968 Democratic National Convention. Mike Church, Andrew Wilkow, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin are all Crypto-Fascists.
