MSNBC is scheduled to announce today that Tucker Carlson’s nightly show Tucker will be canceled. The show aired each weeknight at 6pm on MSNBC. No word yet on what will be replacing the show in that time slot, but there is word that MSNBC is beefing up their political coverage and might be using the 6pm time slot to help that along.

I hate to see the show canceled, as I enjoyed watching Tucker most of the time. It is expected that Tucker will remain on the staff at least through the end of the 2008 election. No word yet on what will happen after that. I will update this story as more info is released.

***Update***

Tucker Carlson will be replaced by a new show anchored by David Gregory. MSNBC has announced the change and you can read about it here.

Also appears that Countdown will now re-air every night at 10pm instead of 12am (Eastern Time).
